PERFORMANCE STRATEGIST, SPEAKER, AND CREATOR OF FRAMEWORKS THAT HELP PEOPLE ACCESS MORE OF WHAT THEY ALREADY POSSESS.
Dr. Travis Fox helps people understand the difference between capacity and access and how small, intentional shifts can unlock greater clarity, discipline, decision-making, and performance when the moment matters.
WORK WITH TRAVIS →Long before I called it The Hidden 5%, I was watching the same phenomenon appear on stages, in sports, inside businesses, in relationships, and under pressure. People didn’t suddenly lose their intelligence, experience, preparation, or talent. Something changed between what they possessed and what they could access. That question became the work.
Sports made the pattern impossible to ignore. An athlete can train for years, know the movement, know the strategy, and know exactly what should happen next. And then pressure enters. Timing changes. Perception changes. Confidence changes. Recovery changes. The body tightens. The decision shifts.
That fascinated me. Because capacity had not disappeared.
Access had changed.
My career didn’t follow one straight line. Psychology led into performance. Performance led into media. Media led into production. Behind cameras and in front of them, the same principle kept showing up: pressure reveals what preparation alone cannot. Media taught me to understand not only what people say, but what happens when the environment changes around them. That lesson never left the work.
Eventually, the performance question became an identity question. Why does one version of a person appear in one environment and another version appear somewhere else? Why can someone be patient at home and urgent at work? Confident in preparation and uncertain in execution?
The deeper I went, the clearer it became:
Behavior is not random. There is architecture beneath it.
I founded and developed BEing® around the idea that lasting change cannot happen only at the level of behavior. Together, Michelle and I developed MPHIOS, the MindPersonas® Human Identity Operating System, to map, understand, and actualize human identity across individuals, teams, and institutions. The work was never meant to tell someone, “This is who you are.” It was designed to help ask:
A foundation for lasting change beyond behavior.
A complete map of human identity.
The small margin between what you possess and what you can express when it matters.
Each environment taught me something. Together, they shaped the work.
Doctoral study into behavior, subconscious patterning, and human performance.
Psychological performance coaching and decades of work in competitive environments.
Producer, director, editor, host, and creator across television, film, and live media.
Thousands of live presentations across leadership, business, sports, and performance.
Founder of BEing®, Co-Creator of MPHIOS, and creator of The Hidden 5%.
For all the systems, stages, cameras, and frameworks, I am still most interested in people. Why we do what we do. Why we become different versions of ourselves in different moments. Why some experiences expand us and others narrow us.
I still golf. I still love the room. I still love a great question more than an easy answer. And I still believe some of the biggest changes in a life begin with something that initially looks very small.
Whether you are leading, competing, trading, building, communicating, or performing under pressure, the work begins with understanding what changes access to your best.
